11.30.21 North of Boulder - Pt 1

This was possibly one of the most amazing sunsets I’ve seen. I took all of these photos over about 10 minutes. I was lucky enough to be driving along a highway north of Boulder with this small lake alongside it that I was able to pull off at to take all of these.

©11.30.21 I was headed east along CO Highway 66. Turns out this is McCall Lake. And luckily there was a way to turn off the highway and get these shots. The sun was setting to my right, looking south.

©11.26.21 Paint Mines Park, Calhan CO - Just about here, as I started back to the car, the wind picked up and an eerie whistling sound started as the it blew through the crevices carved out of the rocks.

11.26.21 Paint Mines Park - Pt 1

In all the years I lived in Colorado, I never heard of this park. It’s east of Colorado Springs. I lucked out with the weather today.

Long before white settlers traveled across the plains, the natives used this site to mine the pigments for their pottery, paint and beads.

I drove up to Lochbuie to spend some time with John. It was a beautiful day and we spent the morning playing disc golf and the afternoon watching football with the dog.
